
Summary
Perform any combination of duties to assist welders in welding, brazing, and thermal and arc cutting
activities. These include, but are not limited to, moving work pieces, tools and supplies, manually or
by mechanical means.
Reporting Relationship
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Field or Shop Foreman
Qualifications
- This candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- This candidate must possess a valid driver license.
Experience
- Candidate must have 3 + months of industrial / manufacturing / general labor experience

- Candidate must be fluent in English. The abilities to speak, read, and write any other languages are preferred.

Essential Duties & Tasks
- Assist in securing components together, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of
metal work and welding techniques. - Assist in the selection of appropriate equipment and plan the layout and assembly of a welding
process. - Assist in the preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters,
hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder. - Set materials in stands, racks, hoist, etc. for welding.
- Assist in repairing of products by dismantling, straightening and reshaping.
- Connect hoses from hand torch to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders or connect cables from power
source to electrode holder and workpiece or fixture. - Start gasoline engine to activate electric generators.
- Remove tags or markers; move finished work.
- Follow verbal or written instructions.
- Contribute to improved employee morale.
- Maintain company welding and fabricating equipment.
- Participate in on-the-job skill training, as needed.
- Ensure billable hours are properly documented and reported to the Supervisor.
- Ensure all work is properly setup.
- Ensure clean and organized work space.
- Attend safety meetings.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Project a positive company image.
- Perform any other duties or tasks assigned by the President.
